People think that counseling is a special skill that only a select few should undertake. It's not; it's a normal part of discipleship. There is no discipleship without counseling. And the select few cannot do it all; we all need to do it all if it's all going to get done. This article helps to explain it from a pastoral perspective.
Please consider getting involved in our formal counseling training ministry. Whether it be around the kitchen table at breakfast or around a conference table at work or around an end table at the church office, we all counsel. We either do it well or do it poorly. At NRBC, we intend to have a church family that does it well, and we are taking specific steps to head in that direction.
Please pray as we take the next right step!
