Thoughtful Action: Discussion from Sunday's Sermon

Based on the word “crowd,” etc. in Matt. 9:35,36, I encouraged you to prioritize people.

  • Do you find yourself getting annoyed by people?  Why is this?
  • Is it a "personality" problem? Does that excuse you from being annoyed or does it relieve you the responsibility to reach out to people?
  • In what ways can you better prioritize people considering your temperament, personality, gifts, etc.?

In 11:19, Jesus was accused of being a friend of tax collectors & sinners. Can you think of ways to be w/ people that could lead to opportunities to share the Gospel?

List 3 people who you would like to evangelize / disciple this year that you will pray for on a regular basis:

A second priority for being a missionary is compassion – because people are harassed. How are Christians & non-Christians harassed today?

How (& toward whom) can you practice compassion? How we "we" as NRBC practice compassion better than we are?

A third priority for being a missionary is that we would pray that the Lord would send out workers. This week, would you prioritize to pray that the Lord would send out laborers?

Have you ever prayed, like Isaiah, “Here am I, send me?”

Have you ever prayed that God would (vocationally) send a specific person?

Why should we pray for God to send “laborers" if he's the Lord of the harvest and he could do it without laborers?
