Romans 14:12 (ESV) – So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the privilege and responsibility of being accountable to you as the ultimate judge of my life. Thank you that nobody else can function that way in my life. Please teach me to live with that reality in mind by obeying you, to the best of my ability, by your grace and for your glory, as the Spirit of God uses your Word to make me more like your Son. Thank you that because of Jesus you have made it possible for that day of judgment to be one that I can anticipate with a certain sense of joy because you have forgiven all of my sins and made me your own beloved child. Thank you that during this earthly journey you’ve also given me the dear brothers and sisters in Christ here at NRBC to hold me accountable to you. Help me to never allow them to usurp your role as Judge but help me to always allow them to remind me that you are indeed my Judge. May we love each other as we ought by encouraging each other to love you as we ought that we might be to the praise of your glory and that others might see our good works and glorify you as well. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
