Here is a prayer request. it’s not the most important prayer request I could put before you today, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important at all. There are way more important things to pray for, but this still falls under the heading of “everything” when Paul says, “in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Phil.4:6).
We need to pray together as a church family that we sell our 25 acres of land in Dacono. I’ve mentioned this from the pulpit on Sunday, and I’m just putting it before you again on the church blog. The more you see it, maybe the more you’ll pray about it. Simply pray that God would allow us to sell the land for a reasonable and fair profit. We don’t want to overcharge anybody. We’d like somebody to get a fair deal. But we’d also like to make some profit in the sale of it. That would go a long way in allowing us to pay down the loan on the new piece of property that we’ve purchased here in Erie.
We are not desperate to sell it. We are desperate for God to do what only He can do. Would you please pray with me about this? We are working on doing our part to make is a sell-able as we can. But God will need to provide that one buyer who would benefit from owning it and therefore be willing to purchase it from us.
As the Scriptures encourage us, we pray with thanksgiving because God has been so kind to us regardless of whether or not we ever sell it. We pray with supplication because we once again need God to do for us what we simple can’t do for ourselves. Yes, I realize people buy and sell every day. But James says something about engaging in business decisions without saying, “if the Lord wills…” Prayer, in this case, is thankfully acknowledging that we are dependent on the sovereign will of God at all times, and especially in this situation.
So, pray. Thankfully pray. Consistently pray. Humbly pray. Thank you!
